This storm door closer repair kit includes replacement parts of components that are regularly lost during installation of a pneumatic door closer, or during remodeling projects.
Step 1. Before you start work, lock or secure the storm door. Remove the broken or bent closer bracket and mounting screws. Remove the piston pin from the closer bracket, releasing the piston arm. Discard the old bracket.
If the door slams shut or closes too slowly, adjust the pneumatic cylinder: To slow the closing, turn the screw on the end of the pneumatic cylinder clockwise. To speed up the closing, turn the screw counterclockwise.
Make a simple closer adjustment to keep your storm door from banging shut, or remaining open when you lower or raise the glass panel for winter or summer.
Strong winds or heavy use can crack the door jamb that holds the storm door closer in place. A jamb reinforcer can repair the cracked jamb, or stop the prob.
