Lubricate Vinyl Windows

How to Lubricate Vinyl Windows. Pull the tops of both window sashes out of the window frame as you would when cleaning the windows. Clean the vinyl liner tracks and the edges of the window sash with a dry rag. Spray some silicone lubricant onto a dry cloth. Reinstall the sashes into the window opening.
Remove the sash on horizontal windows by lifting up at the base to compress the locking springs while pulling out. Wipe the tracks and window frame with a dry cloth to remove loose dust, dirt and debris. Vacuum any remaining dust or debris from inside the track and around the sash and frame.
Close the window and spray the cloth with silicone spray lubricant. Apply the lubricant to the grooves of the window track. Do not spray the lubricant into the track. This leaves a mess on the glass and the sill that can be difficult to clean.
